Dr. Ganja CBD Review
We’ve reviewed Dr. Ganja’s CBD flower. Stay tuned for more reviews of Dr. Ganja CBD products.
Dr Ganja Bubba Kush CBD Flower, 14.9% CBD, .56% total THC
Dr. Ganja’s website has plenty of selection when it comes to CBD flower, but with their range of other CBD products, lacks some of the customizations that are gained when you deal with a flower-only company. On the positive side, there are plenty of reviews for each strain and, for those of you looking for more than just smokable CBD, Dr. Ganja does have a large selection of products. The categories on site range from flower to concentrates to pet products and edibles. On the negative side, the different strain photography looks similar, which is not great. Regardless of the brand presentation, we were ready to dive into our quarter ounce of Bubba Kush to check it out.
Five Senses (5.0 out of 10)
When we first opened the Dr. Ganja pouch, we didn’t get much of a smell emanating from the bag. That’s not a great start. A good quality bud should be releasing the scents of its various terpenes. If the flower is not, that could indicate less than stellar genetics or the dreaded bad cure. Bringing the flower closer to our noses, we got a slight whiff of hay. For those of you that don’t know, Bubba Kush is notorious for its spicy, peppery, minty smell that it has. So, what does this mean? This flower was probably not cured properly, in our view. A cure is the process of storing flower in sealed containers for several weeks or months after its dried to give it time for the proper smell, taste, and smoothness of smoke to settle in before being distributed or used. That was reflected, for us, in a general lack of taste with the smoke of this flower. There is nothing wrong with the flower, it just lacks any unique qualities.
Bag Appeal (6.5 out of 10)
Bubba Kush doesn’t have a distinct “look” to it as some strains would, but this looks pretty standard for outdoor flower. We will say, this bud is stickier than it looks. Once we inspected it up close, and we saw that there are bluish-purple leaves and calyxes scattered throughout the bud. The pistils on the flower were a mix of amber and deep red, and trichomes coated everything. The trim job is decent enough, nothing to write home about like the Five Leaf Wellness Grape Diesel, but passable. You won’t be offended purchasing this flower, but don’t expect to be blown away either.
Potency (7.5 out of 10)
One great quality about Dr. Ganja – and this experience as a whole – is the fact that they post full lab results on their site, including terpene reports. Nice! We believe transparency is key in this industry. This Dr. Ganja Bubba Kush clocks in at 14.9% CBD. That’s not the highest, but a respectable and effective amount. This also has .56% total THC. The terpene reports show this Bubba Kush is high in Limonene and Humulene, with 1.44% Limonene and 1.3% Humulene. Once again, it’s refreshing that they post the full labs, and we hope that other vendors will follow suit.
Effect (7.0 out of 10)
The effects of this Dr Ganja Bubba Kush were mild overall. It doesn’t hit in the same way we have found other kush strains – Frosted Kush from Secret Nature, for instance – hit. For some, that might be a good thing, but we were hoping for a little more. After smoking it, we noticed a subtle chill go throughout the body, and a nice numbing chill at our reviewer’s pain spots. It’s slightly relaxing, but not overly relaxing to where it hinders your ability to do normal activities. For those of you that need to go about your day and want a hint of that indica effect, the good news is that this flower isn’t as sedating as other varieties of Bubba Kush.
Price (8.5 out of 10)
This flower is listed at $25 an eighth and $95 an ounce. On a purely numbers basis, that is pretty reasonable pricing. For the quality, though, we believe Dr. Ganja could sharpen the pencil. In our other flower reviews, we’ve highlighted a number of quality indicas that can be found for the same or lower price point with a more memorable effect. For reference, you will be paying 4.3 cents per milligram of CBD when you buy an 1/8 th and 2.2 cents when you buy an ounce. At a lower price point, we could see this flower gaining some everyday users. But, the desirability at this price point is questionable.
