How to Use CBD Isolate Crystals?
January 23, 2019
CBD Crystals are CBD in its purest form, most containing 0% THC. For mixing crystals, it all depends on what you want the mg per ml to be. CBD crystals can be used in many ways whether it’s mixing with your favourite e-liquid or adding some with your favourite food, you can even sprinkle it in your beverage such as tea or coffee.
Here at House of Vapes we offer the 500mg CBD crystals by Harmony, if using this brand of crystals, you would calculate it by dissolving the 500mg in a 10ml, 20ml or even 50ml which give you the ratios of 50mg/ml or 5% CBD (10ml), 25mg/ml or 2.5% CBD (20ml), 5mg/ml or 0.5% CBD (50ml).
We have created a step-by-step guide for when you try to mix CBD crystal with your favourite e-liquid;
- Make sure you are not allergic to PG as this can cause skin irritations.
- Make sure you know the VG/PG combination of the e-liquid you are going to use.
- PG tends to mix a lot better with crystal isolate, dissolve the amount of CBD desired into a PG liquid by either gentle heating or shaking, mix with your favourite High VG liquid.
P.S. The more CBD used, the more chance of it recrystallising (isolate separating from liquid) which can clog your coil…
The calculation is pretty simple, amount of mg in CBD divided by the amount of liquid mixed with equals to CBD mg per ml.
Here are a few examples of the ratios you would get when mixing crystals:
The easiest method of ingesting crystals is by dabbing them under the tongue or mixing with food and beverages. This can be measured by using kitchen scales or eyeballing. This method is a lot less accurate when trying to moderate the amount taken. Isolate powder dissolves and mixes a lot easier with drinks.
Here are a few tips when mixing:
- Best to consume crystals/powder with other foods or after eating.
- Do not consume on an empty stomach, it will be harder for your body to absorb the CBD.
- When ingesting CBD, effects will take around 30-90 minutes to kick in.
- Less CBD will be absorbed when ingesting if compared to vaping CBD
Depending on what you prefer, you can either consume the CBD by either ingesting or vaping. One difference is that vaping goes straight to the bloodstream, this means that when vaping CBD, the user will feel the CBD a lot faster than ingesting (30-90 minutes). In addition to this, if you ingest 500mg of CBD, you are not likely to absorb as much as inhaling.

Adding cbd isolate to vape juice
While 1000 Hemp is known for providing some of the best wholesale CBD supplements in the world, we often hear that many of our end users want to make their own personalized CBD products at home. But is it actually possible to create some safe and effective homemade CBD ingestibles? As a matter of fact, there are quite a few products that can be concocted safely by yourself, as long as you start with a base of high-quality CBD concentrates!
One of the most popular cannabidiol (which is actually the proper scientific name for CBD) products on the market is CBD isolate vape juice . However, this type of product is not quite as straightforward to create as perhaps an infused brownie or gelatin capsule. Yet, there is actually a simple way to manufacture a safe-to-use CBD vape oil at home, all by yourself! Want this easy recipe for your clients to follow? Here is how to make vape juice from CBD isolate :
What is CBD isolate?
It should be noted that high-quality CBD isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol concentrate; isolates are often made up of 99.9 percent CBD! Pure, clean versions of this extract come in the form of clear crystals or white, milky powder. If you notice that your CBD isolates look different or are yellow or brown in color, they may still be authentic cannabidiol supplements. However, they are at most 90 percent pure CBD and most likely contain a variety of undesirable compounds and solvents. You are always better off using the highest quality CBD you can find!
What do I need to make my own CBD isolate vape oil at home?
The first thing to do is to gather the proper materials. Luckily, most of them are common kitchen utensils or are very easily obtainable (from us or other CBD suppliers)! These materials include:
1) A mortar and pestle
2) A sterile, clean bowl or container
3) A load-cell based scale that can weigh grams accurately
4) A vape oil (unflavored or flavored are both fine)
5) A heat source that can maintain a low but consistent heat without burning anything (a pan filled with medium-hot water is a perfect option)
6) A stirring utensil
8) Any other handy kitchen tools that you might find helpful
9) Sterilized storage containers for the finished CBD isolate vape oil
10) High-quality CBD isolate
11) Optional: Terpenes for added flavor and effect
A quick note: The amount of CBD isolate used should be carefully decided beforehand. It is important to have a target concentration or milligram amount in mind, ahead of time to reduce any unnecessary waste or side effects.
Which vape juices are best to use CBD isolate vape oil?
Once you start looking around for vape juices, you will notice that there are two main types available on the market: propylene glycol (otherwise known as PG) and vegetable glycerine (otherwise known as VG or glycerol).
PG is perhaps the most commonly used vape liquid in the industry because it tends to create a sensation similar to traditional smoking while also being considerably inexpensive. However, roughly 20 percent of all vape juices are made with VG because they have a sweeter flavor and produce far more vapor upon exhalation. Honestly, the choice is up to the chef and/or user! Either vape liquid is perfectly suitable to make at-home cannabidiol isolate vape oils and your clients can actually mix them to see what ratios of each liquid they like best.
What are terpenes and what benefits do they offer in CBD vape juices?
Terpenes are natural plant flavor particles that are found in abundance throughout plants in nature, especially in hemp and marijuana. However, terpenes don’t simply add flavors and smells to these plants but they also work in a synergistic fashion with cannabinoids such as CBD! This means that cannabidiol vape liquids that are made with terpenes not only have a better flavor but also potentially provide a more potent effect!
How to make your own vape juice at home
Once you have gathered all of the necessary materials, you are ready to follow these easy steps:
Step 1) Activate the low heat source and allow it to get well above room temperature.
Step 2) Take the sterile bowl or container and put 30 milliliters of vape juice into it.
Step 3) Place this container on the low heat source and allow the vape juice to also get above room temperature.
Step 4) Use the scale to weigh out the desired amount of cannabidiol isolate.
Step 5) Use the mortar and pestle to crush the CBD isolate if it is the clear crystal type. This step is unnecessary if the isolate in hand is already in powder form.
Step 6) Add the powdered isolate to the heated vape liquid.
Step 7) Using the stirring utensil, gently mix the heated mixture. Make sure you take your time! Stir the solution until you no longer see or feel any crystals or powdery elements with the utensil.
Step 8) Once the solution is completely mixed, let it cool off.
Step 9) Transfer the newly-finished vape juice into the storage containers carefully using the funnels.
Do you want to flavor your CBD vape oil?
The choice of flavoring vaporizable CBD oil is really up the person making it (and perhaps the people using it); either way should be perfectly fine and safe. However, if you decide to flavor the CBD vape juices, you are going to need to add another step (between steps 7 and 8) to the recipe we have outlined above:
Terpene Flavoring Step
Step 7.5) Take 0.5 milliliters of your desired terpene(s) and add them to the vape liquid. Make sure you keep the solution overheated for several hours (up to 12) and mix it as often as possible since the terpenes will take quite a while to fully mix with the vape juices.
This part of the process is obviously very time-consuming, especially in comparison with the rest of the recipe. If you want to avoid this extra time cost, you can easily use pre-flavored vape liquids of your choice!
By following this quick recipe, you will soon be vaping CBD isolate oils of your own! If you don’t know how to vape yet, it’s pretty simple. Here’s how:
How to vape CBD isolate juices

You will simply need to get an e-juice vaporizer and fill the compartment that is usually made for nicotine vape liquids with your homemade ones. Then a simple press of a button and an inhale, and their CBD isolate vape juice is in use!
