Western Slope Cannabis Crown Coming in April

Aspen Colorado will host the "Cannabis Crown" , an event similar to the famed Amsterdam "Cannabis Cup".

The Cannabis Crown will take place at the Gant on April 17-18. Most of the available 1,500 tickets have already been sold out and it appears to be to be a popular event. The Cannabis crown will be a showcase of the best marijuana strains from Colorado medical marijuana growers, providers, patients and dispensaries.

The even is being called  "The First Annual Western Slope Cannabis Crown." The owners of High Country Caregivers and Glenwood Springs Medical Marijuana Supporter Bobby Scurlock are the events main organizers.

The conference is open to the public and will include speakers, live music, information booths, and most notably, a competition among providers that showcases their best strains. Growers and providers will compete for the “cannabis crown.”

The entries will be scientificly tested by the Denver  based  'Full Spectrum Laboratories' to measure THC levels. There will also be a "people's Choice" award.

According to the Post Independent, Scurlock is quoted as saying  “This is not about pot heads running around the streets,This conference is to enlighten people and talk about the benefits, and its economic impact.”

There is going to be a raffle held at the event with proceeds being donated to Haiti disaster relief.
