Romer's Colorado Medical Marijuana Regulation Bill passes the first hurdle
Chris Romer's Colorado Medical Marijuana Regulation bill cleared the first hurdle.
UPDATE
Chris Romer and Nacy Spence's Colorado Medical Marijuana House Bill 109 passed the Colorado Senate by a huge 34-1 margin.
The bill was approved with a 6 to 1 vote by the Colorado Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
The bill would regulate the doctor-patient relationship as it applies to medical marijuana. The intention is to prevent abuses of the current system. As part of this effort, doctors would not be allowed to accept remuneration or payment for writing recommendations from caregivers or dispensaries.
The bill also has stipulations for requiring a 'real relationship' with the patient. This includes a medical exam and follow-up care.

What will be the result of this Legislation? Will more doctors stop recommending medical marijuana out of fear? Will it become a class based regulation system whereby only those who can afford the multiple doctor trips will have access to medical marijuana in Colorado?
